Toronto Pride 2010
30 Years of Pride

We need Volunteers!

For everyone interested in volunteering, we have many low-commitment ways to get involved, and a few higher-commitment needs as well. If you are interested in any of the jobs listed below, please email us at parade@proudanglicans.ca and put "volunteer" in the subject line.

We need a volunteer to be in charge of the sound system. This entails reserving rental equipment before Pride, renting the equipment on the weekend of Pride, driving it to the bus in the Parade line-up on Rosedale Valley Road (on Sunday morning, before noon), and returning it after the parade. Our DJ and I will both be able to help with details and answer any questions. All costs will be reimbursed by Proud Anglicans.

We need a monitor for the marching contingent that will line up on Bloor Street east of Church. This entails picking up the banners, placards and sashes sometime before pride weekend, handing them out to marchers at the Bloor street line-up area before 1:30 on Sunday, ensuring that our group joins the parade in front of the bus with the banner leading (this is facilitated by the Parade Marshals), and at the end of the parade, collecting the banners, placards and sashes and putting them all on the bus. Some of these tasks can be delegated on the day of the Parade.

We need at least 4 wheel monitors for the bus (this is a good job to share with a friend). You must be at the bus on Rosedale Valley Road by 1:30 on Sunday, and must walk the parade route alongside one of the wheels of the bus. This is a Pride Toronto safety requirement.

We need several people to help us decorate the bus on Sunday. You can show up down at Rosedale Valley Road any time before 1:30 to help out. If you forget to email us about your interest in helping, just show up on Sunday morning anyway, we're always glad for more help.

We also need some people to stay on the bus after the parade to help undecorate. This usually takes less than an hour.
