Photos taken during the Toronto Pride Parade, 27 June 2004.
There were 26 parishes listed on the sides of the float, and on the two thousand handout cards distributed to the crowds. Here are a few pictures - more up in a few days.

It was windy when we got started
In 2003, one of the riders on the float was the Most Rev Ted Scott, former Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada. (He's the one in the purple shirt in this picture). He planned to ride with us again in 2004. We were shocked and saddened when Ted was killed in a car accident just six days before Toronto Pride.
The 2004 float was dedicated to Archbishop Scott's memory
We turned the corner from Church St onto Bloor, and the parade had begun
We actually had two vehicles in 2004 - the float at the front, and an SUV from the Gays and Lesbians at St James Cathedral bringing up the rear of the Anglican contingent. The two vehicles meant that we could transport 24 people who otherwise couldn't manage to walk the whole parade route.
In front of the Cathedral SUV is Chris, dressed as always (with tiara, gloves, handbag and of course pearls) as The Queen. Well, Her Majesty IS an Anglican...
Parishes came from far and wide - here's St Matthias

with the rector's face hidden - just like last year. Ooops!

St Simon's - the late Archbishop Ted Scott's parish
We took an hour and a half to walk the parade route. There were a LOT of people in the crowd – about a million, we're told. Here are a few glimpses.
